We’re raising a dram to celebrate the incredible women who shape our world. In the spirit of empowerment and appreciation, we are thrilled to introduce not one but TWO exceptional new whiskies. Plus our expert female DRAM-cierge team handpicked their own favourites, ensuring a tasting experience that resonates with the spirit of International Women’s Day.
We’re celebrating Our Whisky Foundation’s mentorship programme to support women working in the whisky industry – including the Society’s very own brand innovation manager Julie Roberts. Here, Julie explains how the programme works and how it has benefited her.
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has a proud history of representing women in our Tasting Panels, but does the absence of any men affect proceedings? We asked one of the contributors to a recent all-woman Panel to reflect on the experience.
Women have been instrumental in making the Society what it is today. The three As of Anne Dana, Anne Griffiths and Annabel Meikle came from different backgrounds and hadn’t planned to have a career in whisky. But driven by a thirst for knowledge, an encouraging environment and an openness to new ventures, these women ended up shaping some of the most recognisable parts of the Society.

Glasgow – International Women’s Day Tasting & Supper
Friday 8 March, 4pm at 40 Bath Street
For International Women's Day our female SMWS Ambassador's have chosen their favourite drams for this tasting and will be accompanied by a delicious society supper!
