Tasting Notes
The neat nose was superbly focused on scented hardwoods, dried sultanas, chopped dates and figs soaking in Armagnac. Our notes included vanilla fudge, rum 'n' raisin ice cream and some deeper, earthier qualities underneath. Water brought forward a classical, nicely leafy and earthy sherry profile, with an elegant fruitiness in the background. The neat palate opened with a pleasantly herbal bitter note that suggested bottle-aged fernet (and perhaps digestif liqueur-energy drink 'bombs'), before crushed mint leaf, chocolate gingers, cedarwood cigar boxes and pickled walnuts.
