SMWS scores best-ever result with five Golds and a Silver in ISC competition 2023.
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society’s award-winning streak of success continues, with a record haul of five Gold medals in the International Spirits Challenge (ISC), along with one Silver.
The Society’s winning entries were:
Cask No. 36.193: Juggling oranges in a humidor: GOLD
Cask No. 94.31: Ice cream by candlelight: GOLD
Cask No. 35.331: Life-changing magnificence: GOLD
Cask No. 41.157: Pine nut croissants: GOLD
Cask No. 3.341: Spirit of gratitude and benevolence: GOLD
Cask No. 4.345: Beach bonfire at sundown: SILVER
The International Spirits Challenge medals bring the Society’s total number of awards since 2018 to 297.
The ISC is now in its 28th year of promoting outstanding quality spirits from across the globe. The competition receives thousands of entries from over 70 countries worldwide, making it a truly global competition. Winners are established through a rigorous judging process, with a highly controlled operation held over 12 days of intense blind tastings by panels of more than 50 respected and experienced industry professionals. Each product is blind tasted and awarded a score for its aroma, appearance, taste and finish.
