Tasting Notes
The nose needed some time, eventually producing a log cabin vibe, dark chocolate, pain aux raisins, black forest gâteau and clove-spiced apple. The texture was dry, with intense flavours of wood, orange oil, salted liquorice, chocolate cake and mixed berry sorbet. The reduced nose developed a cherry extravaganza – plum and cherry pie and cherry liqueur chocolates – plus dark chocolate-coated raspberry and coconut bars, liquorice lozenges, sea buckthorn and a coastal ozone zing. The palate remained big and powerful, sweet and medicinal: with honey/lemon and cherry throat sweets, and a fruit smoothie (apple, cherry, strawberry, banana) served in a wooden goblet.
