Tasting Notes
Like a spring breeze through a laundry line, aromas of pear drops, pear schnapps and banana cream tumbled over crunchy pears and strawberry jelly sweets. Fragrant marjoram whispered at the edges while peaches, meringue and buttercream icing folded into an unmistakable marzipan plushness. The palate moved from peach yoghurt to elderflower wine and juicy chardonnay, before muesli merged with lemon drizzle cake. Adding water, lemon juice and poached pears combined with more marzipan in a bakewell tart. The finish then settled, soft and mouth-coating, as more pears – alongside apple slices and toasted flaked almonds – joined dried heather and peach sorbet with the skin defiantly left on.
