Tasting Notes
The Panel found this one to have a highly evocative nose that brought to mind sooty coal scuttles, laundry drying by a shoreline, old beach wood and wet beach pebbles. We also noted impressions of beach sand and fragrant bath salts. Reduction brought earthier notes of clay, mineral oils, tool box rags and metal polish. The palate was nicely sharp and citric up front, with green apple, lemons, gooseberry and delicate briny notes, plus a tang of sandalwood. Water brought an ever so slightly sweeter perspective, revealing lemon barley water then sea air, white coastal flowers and milk stout.
