Tasting Notes
It opened like an artist’s paint box – Monet in his garden perhaps; then mouth-watering fruits appeared; white grape, melon, pear and the deep, honeyed sweetness of baklava. The palate was elegance in a glass – perfumed pear, cloudy apple juice and galia melon; heather honey, caramel candies and juicy fruit chewing gum – all in the context of a springtime heatwave in blossoming Speyside. With water (completely unnecessary, by the way) the nose evoked Sherlock Holmes standing in a rose garden thoughtfully cradling his well-worn tobacco pipe. The silky smooth palate recalled apricot, papaya, monstera fruit etc, with subtle hints of stem ginger and cinnamon.
