Icing sugar on lemon sponge cake joined vanilla, cinnamon and pineapple cordial with a green freshness that said "Do you come here often". This easy-going and inviting demeanour continued on the palate with bags of apricots, peaches and banana wrapped in orange chocolate and rum and raisin ice cream. With water we relaxed with apple pie served with cinnamon and custard while lemon meringue joined toffee, gooseberries and toasted oak. A vibrant palate now embraced fizzy orange and pineapple drinks with golden syrup, pears poached in calvados and apple sauce. On the finish buttery cereal notes morphed into apricot pastries and star anise with clean oak.
