Hallowe'en Mystery Malt
Hansel and Gretel had it all wrong, the witches’ cottage was made of shortbread. The chimney spouted vanilla cream soda with hints of camphor. The windows were glazed with lychee syrup and custard. Illuminated blue raspberry ice lollies were spaced along the custard slice path leading to the house – fizzy rainbow sherbets and boiled lime sweets studded the path to the front door. In the cottage, a table was piled high with banana crepes, sweet breakfast cereals, rice pudding, lime cordial and toffee apples while the oven gently warmed for what was next.
