Tasting Notes
With a resounding "wow!" from the word go, it was apparent that what we discovered something special. Sophisticated fruits moved beyond simple terms to encapsulate oloroso sherry with waves of bruised apples, ripe papaya and pecans. A chasmic pool of grated dark chocolate and perfumed tobacco swirled around moscovado sugar, flambeed bananas and black tea with a rich intensity. With water came a wave of fermenting pears, raisins and dates with hints of treacle and vanilla on very mature oak. Dried apricots merged with sweet spices as marmalade complemented walnuts, almonds and prunes. A divine and extensive finish stretched out into cognac and coffee before leaving us with tobacco, pickled lime skin and a feeling of awe.
