Tasting Notes

The nose suggested Hawaiian grass skirts and floral garlands, butterscotch, lemon puffs, mashed banana and honey on porridge. The initial palate was ultra-sweet (toffee, treacle tart, clover honey, jam sponge), but we also got buttered toast, Demerara espresso dregs, wood chips and herbal intimations of rosemary and Chartreuse. The reduced nose was like having ice-cream with raspberry sauce and lemon meringue pie on a sunny park bench. The palate still delighted us with café noir biscuits, corn candies and maple syrup, while in the finish now we discovered drying, lip-tingling hints of liquorice, sour cherry, dark chocolate and sweet ginger.
