Tasting Notes
The nose started with perfumed wood (potpourri in a chest of drawers) but quickly went out of doors – to an orchard or a beach with sun lotion, ice cream and a cascade of golden caramel sunshine. The palate combined fruit (lychee, gooseberry and passion fruit) with candy floss and marshmallow sweetness, before a finish of wood char, cumin seeds and liquorice root. The reduced nose gave us lemon curd and chocolate limes, pineapple tarts and banana split, with hints of polished shoes. The palate suggested bubblegum, stewed rhubarb and carob, with spiced black bun lingering long on the aftertaste.
