The distinct aroma of marzipan, glace cherries and soft icing on a cherry Bakewell joined the soft fruits of mango and honeydew melon before dark berries descended us through vanilla sponge cake and into sticky toffee pudding. Rum and raisin ice cream then poured over salted caramel and chocolate bourbon biscuits while fragrant notes from pencil shavings merged with pipe tobacco and brown sugar. With water came banana bread and walnut cake sandwiching a layer of sticky fondant icing and hazelnuts. Then intense dark fruits and burnt toffee married with prunes and milk chocolate before bags of cinnamon and nutmeg coated macadamia nuts on a slightly perfumed finish.
