The panel had all sorts of images in mind nosing this one neat. Worn for the first time but now muddy welly boots, a gooseberry tart, bacon wrapped asparagus, exotic wood and pine syrup. On the palate there was a lovely fruitiness with a collection of year-round classic pies such as apple and blackberry, lemon meringue, plum and marzipan as well as fig, raspberry and cardamom and not to forget the good old mince pie. Diluted we unwrapped our cinnamon bagel from a greaseproof paper bag before we enjoyed salted caramel, stewed rhubarb and ginger with chocolate, cherry and chilli brownies in the finish.
