Tasting Notes

The nose had wafts of vanilla (vanilla ice cream, crème Catalan), milky coffee with fudge and coconut macaroons, hints of toasted almonds and a smear of lemon. Heavenly citrus dominated the palate – key lime pie, lemon posset and cloudy lemonade – accompanied by heather honey and sugar-frosted cornflakes. The reduced nose was fresh and summery – flowers perfuming in the sun, candy floss, marshmallows and Turkish coffee with hazelnut pastries. The palate was sweet, fruity and buttery, with hot buttered crumpets, lemon sponge cake, Moffat toffees, candied fruit sweets and mandarin liqueur. Sunshine, flowers and citrus – this evoked pure pleasure in a Mediterranean plaza.
