Tasting Notes
The nose opened in a sweet shop, offering runny caramel and toffee apples, but soon wandered into an orchard ready for picking. Notes of coconut shells, freshly chopped wood and a dry oakiness emerged from behind the initial sweetness. On the palate, a surprising aniseed heat and a wave of blackcurrant and liquorice led to a rich, malty core of bran cereal and sugared almonds. A drop of water unwrapped a brown paper parcel, revealing a twist of birch sap, honeydew melon, and strawberries and cream. The palate softened to sweet black tea, coconut shavings and a floral hint of rose ice cream, before a finish of after-dinner mints and a lingering, pleasant note of musky oud wood.
