Tasting Notes
The fruity zing of fermenting grape must led into a handful of fresh raspberries bobbing about in a glass of eau de vie before fields of roses, geraniums and apple blossom joined sweet digestive biscuits. Creamy custard emerged on the palate, with juicy raspberry sorbet on apple crumble with ginger biscuits as its base. With water the raspberries turned to pears, lemons and Turkish delight topped with a suggestion of nutmeg and cinnamon. Moving from field to orchard, we were now surrounded by trees of pears, bright red apples and oranges, with the tannins of thick bark and the tang of grapefruit on the finish.
