Tasting Notes
Clean and inviting, the nose offered toffee, vanilla, lemon bonbons and a hint of pineapple, and provoked memories of getting ready to paint new shelves. The palate, showing good body and substance, had lovely initial sweetness – desiccated coconut sprinkled over syrupy banana fritters, yum yums, chocolate-topped caramel hazelnut bites and honey – before finishing with understated cinnamon, nutmeg and paprika. On the reduced nose we walked past a confectioner’s and a florist’s but then ran through wheat fields with naughty Teresa. The palate was now very easy-drinking – candied orange or pears dipped in chocolate, lemon oil, white pepper and chamomile; a beautiful aperitif-type dram.
