Tasting Notes
The aromas were heady and invigorating, like a cleansing wave of eucalyptus and wintergreen crashing over the rockpools of your mind, displacing memories of brown sugar, linseed oil and quinine. A wave on the nose became a tsunami on the palate, as a profusion of peat splashed against burning pine trees, cashews and smoked almonds. A dash of fresh water delivered peanut butter on a coal scuttle, with salted fennel seeds crushed into the soot and ash of the burnt pine trees. Linseed oil returned with a hint of menthol in treacle before the waves receded to leave heavily salted pistachios and honeycomb.
