Accompanied by a carefully selected three-dram flight and a selection of movie snacks, this relaxed viewing experience explores the deep connection between peat and Scotch whisky, from landscape to glass.
Follow whisky experts Richard and Calum as they travel from The Vaults in Leith to the legendary island of Islay, uncovering the story of peat, how it is formed, harvested and used in whisky production. Along the way, discover the art of peat cutting, traditional maltings and the process through which smoky phenols find their way into the final spirit.
The documentary also explores the future of peat through conversations with industry experts, scientists and whisky makers, examining peat's role in flavour, culture and sustainability.
