Tasting Notes
The nose was deliciously sweet and citric – three fruit marmalade, lemon curd and orange sherbet; also with floral freshness, leather and pencil shavings. That fruity sharpness continued on the palate – blood orange, grapefruit fizzy drinks, raspberry liqueur and peach Bellini; the sweetness turned spicier – from rhubarb sweets, nougat and fudge to ginger snaps, dark chocolate and spiced cake. The reduced nose grew more autumnal – hazelnuts, hedgerows and wooden floorboards, salted caramel and cinnamon toast. The palate became marvellously sweet – parkin, waffles, honey, jam pop tarts, rhubarb rock and coffee and walnut ice-cream; oak, crystallised ginger and toasted pumpkin seeds to finish.
