Tasting Notes
Plenty of fresh, crisp, citric notes on the nose neat reminded us of our childhood days when we were served a Shirley Temple cocktail – lemon-lime soda and grenadine syrup, garnished with a maraschino cherry. On the palate at first, juicy peaches and apricots were soon followed by a now ‘grown-up’ limeade with white rum and that typical bitter bite in the finish. After reduction, we sampled a summer fruit salad with fresh mint as well as a strawberry sherbet using plenty of whipped cream, strawberry gelatine and freshly squeezed lemon juice. To taste, we were served a slice of chocolate spice cake with a cream cheese frosting before we finished with an enthusiastic “tanoshikatta kanpai!”.
