Tasting Notes
The nose is afternoon tea in a flower garden (Earl Grey, French fancies, Norwegian skolebrød, jammy dodgers, lemon posset and figs). On the palate, custard and raisin sweetness gives way to sherbet lemons, apple sours and sorrel leaf; the finish has penetrating notes of pepper, pickled ginger and oak shavings. The reduced nose wanders towards pineapple tarts, clotted cream, jam and honeycomb, with secretive hints of fresh laundry and heather moor burn arm wrestling in the background. Now the palate discovers dragon fruit and maraschino cherries in a Shirley Temple; black tea, citric peel and oak to finish.
