Tasting Notes
The nose combined sweet fruitiness (tinned fruit salad, Black Forest gateau, stewed plums in custard) with nutty, woody aromas (peanut shells, nougat, coconut snowball, walnut whip, pencil box). The palate suggested flambéed nuts and raisins, toasted cashews and chocolate-coated hazelnut bars, cherries, orange and blackcurrant, before finishing with cinnamon, dark chocolate and liquorice. On the reduced nose, we imagined fresh laundry flapping in a sunlit lemon grove, pineapple cake, apple tarts and meadow flowers. The palate had us salivating over tart lemonade, cream soda and fruits of the forest; the finish drew out contented lip-smacking murmurings of oak, lime zest and caramelised biscuits.
