Ah, does exactly what is says on the bottle with aromas of smoked lemons, roasted sweet potatoes and kelp on a beach bonfire all followed on the palate by a cup of tea brewed with lapsang souchong pine and oak smoked black loose leaves, exactly as it should be – an acquired taste for those who love this sort of thing. With the addition of water, we barbequed langoustines and glazed them with our homemade asafoetida flavoured maple syrup. To taste simple sophistication, smoke, sweetness, spice and sea as we delighted in smoked venison, sweet BBQed lobster meat, spicy smoky harissa sauce and smoked mussels in garlic butter.
