Tasting Notes

Limited to 2 bottles per member

A funky nose that initially suggested cooking oils, sooty waxes, raspberry popping candy and crystallised fruit peels. Then dark fruits marinating in young cognac, dates, sultanas and mandarin liqueur. A kiss of motor oil underneath. With water we found plum wine, tamarind sauce, pomegranate molasses and date chutney. Big, leathery, darkly fruity and fun. The palate showed an initial burst of leaf mulch, tobacco, putty and almond oil. Thick, textural and full of camphor and wood resins. Reduction softened things and enhanced the stewed fruit notes along with game meats, coffee and salted butterscotch.
