The nose opened with a satisfyingly starchy profile. Lots of oatcakes, rice biscuits, hay loft and fresh linen. Also some dried fruits and a wee nibble of green acidity added freshness. With water we found it got thicker and creamier, some notes of actual whipped cream, lemon sponge cake, olive oil, cut grass and citrus peels. The neat palate featured malted milk, lemon posset, young calvados and white pepper. Some more biscuity sweetness and young dessert wines as well. With water we noted hessian, marjoram, subtle ointments and hints of cherry bakewell and rainbow sherbet.
