Tasting Notes
Did someone throw oranges and/or fir tree branches onto the bonfire? Is someone melting brown sugar in a very old pan or lighting a sea breeze scented candle? On the palate neat, a sweet, dark and fruity smokiness, like roasted plums at first followed by a peaty potpourri, oak shavings and beef biltong sticks. Water moved us into an alpine lodge where we started a log fire with some wood wool firelighters and took off our retro winter woolly jumpers to enjoy a smoky heather ale or a German Rauchbier. Sweet, smoky, malty and a toasted long finish - cheers to that!
