Tasting Notes
The nose was summer in a glass – orchards and flower meadows, vanilla slice, brown sugar on mashed bananas, rhubarb rock, strawberry laces and summer creams. The palate was completely different – we encountered pencil shavings, green apple peelings and jalapenos, lemon tart, liquorice, leather and stewed pears with cloves. Still summery, the reduced nose revealed laundry flapping in the sun, dusty barn rafters, sea pinks, cherry pie and apple strudel, lemon, blackcurrant and polished shoes. The palate went from dark chocolate drizzled over pears, honey-glazed cereal bars and mint crumble sweets to a tangy, tannic finish of, aspirin, wood sap and resins.
