The nose suggested various things – milk chocolate orange, ice lolly sticks and a tin of buttermilk biscuits; lemon furniture polish, spicy Chai and hints of lime pickle and ash. The palate was fruity (three fruit marmalade, mango sorbet) with woody aspects (Brazil nuts, liquorice root, nutmeg) and a drying finish of citrus, gooseberry and sloe. With water, the nose offered lemon drizzle cake, sugared almonds, Charentais melon and a freshly puttied window overlooking a railway embankment of rosebay willowherb. The reduced palate was much sunnier – honey, lemon puff biscuits, Moffat toffees and some yakitori seasoning (chilli, sesame, soy sauce, brown sugar).
