The initial nose suggested ripe red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and cherry, before grape juice, pineapple and earthy gorse flower all emerged. Some overripe cider apple, warm banana pudding, warm mosses and tangy balsamic glaze. With reduction we got dried cherries this time, along with cranberries, lime juice, cocoa nibs and tinned peaches. The mouth was fulsome and richly textured. Lots of up front wood spices, spearmint, wafer ice cream cones, profiteroles, sweet black tea, ginger beer and freshly pressed apple juice. Water brought out fresh cereals, buttery toast scraped with set honey, bergamot, chamomile, nutmeg and fruity muesli. Also dried papaya and lemon peel. Bountiful, natural and immensely satisfying.
