We walked into an old-fashioned sweet shop with wooden counters where generations of children exchanged their pennies for a delicious candy crush, and just like the kids in a candy store we could not wait to try. We were in for a surprise; raspberry and black pepper truffles, Curly Wurly chocolate bars dipped in soy sauce and espresso walnut brownies. Diluted we went next door to the ice cream parlour which had just re-opened after the winter break and ordered a mango and vanilla bavarois with mango sorbet and a glass of dandelion and burdock carbonated soft drink.
