Tasting Notes
A fascinating potpourri of aromas on the neat nose delivered freshly cut lime, black cardamom, white pepper, camphor and menthol balm and, hovering in the background, a mixture of lightly smoked plum barbecue sauce and a lit menthol cigarette. On the palate, chilli-spiced octopus yakitori combined with the sweet, smooth smoke of cigarillos and the herbaceous, slightly minty flavour of a shiso leaf in the finish. Water added an autumnal garden bonfire next to smoked tonka beans and a tea brewed with blackcurrant leaves. The taste reminded us of pumpernickel French toast with currants and sunflower seeds topped with sweet smoked strawberries and a drizzle of maple syrup.
