We imagined collecting our own strawberries in a wicker basket on a warm sunny July day surrounded by fields of barley. Picking strawberries made us hungry and we unpacked our cream tea hamper to enjoy plain and fruit scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam and all-butter sugar crusted biscuits with a cup of Ceylon tea and a sneaky glass of bubbly. Following reduction, we made theatre-style buttered popcorn, chocolate coconut butter bars as well as peaches and cream cobbler. Then finally, to top it all off, we indulged in a pear and strawberry porridge smoothie and baked oatmeal with caramelised pears and roasted hazelnuts served with vanilla ice cream.
