Tasting Notes
This opened with a fruit explosion on the neat nose, mainly bananas – as in banana split, banana bread and German wheat beer – while apple upsidedown cake, papaya salad and jammy red fruits also made a guest appearance. On the palate it reminded us of a glass of rivesaltes wine from France, with its familiar flavours of vanilla, baked cherries and honey, but we also noted the taste of mung bean cakes hailing from China. Following reduction, we found ginger and lime tea with aromatic herbs, turmeric, saffron and a hint of frankincense. To taste it delivered a cup of Turkish apple loose-leaf fruit tea spiced with cloves and cinnamon.
