A taste of summer is a whisky that stands apart from our regular offerings of cask strength bottlings.
Bottled at a slightly reduced strength of 48% abv, this strength has been selected by our whisky team as being the optimal abv for this particular cask. The result is a full-flavoured Society single malt that offers an alternative way to explore our range.
Tasting Notes
We imagined the early-morning sun rising over a grass meadow as the dew drops sparkled in the first rays of light. This calm and relaxing atmosphere carried on, almost seamlessly, to the palate with a cup of camomile and manuka honey tea, some lemon meringue pie and a banana milkshake. After careful reduction, an array of tropical fruits such as mango, kiwi and star fruit came to the fore, followed by Greek-style honeyed yoghurt and toasted almonds. Now truly a taste of summer, we enjoyed a mint daiquiri cocktail, a wheat beer and rooibos-honeybush iced tea. Following six years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a first fill ex-bourbon barrel.
