Tasting Notes
The Panel was taken aback by the richness and assertiveness of this unusually mature-for-its-age grain. A newly ribboned typewriter clattered along with freshly made rum cocktails bobbing with pineapple chunks. Exotic fruit sherbets, lemon curd, WD40 mixed with fruit salad juices and pine resin-flavoured bubble-gum. Water gave us varnished pine wood, mirabelle eau de vie and golden syrup on soda bread. The palate opened with brown apples drizzled with sunflower oil, gooseberries and sun lotion. Mechanical things like bike chain oil, toolbox rags, chamois leather and gorse flower. With water it got spicier and displayed notes of elderflower, honeysuckle, rapeseed oil, white mushroom and cider apple peelings.
