Tasting Notes
Autumn leaves and coffee beans fell into tar pits as coal soot dusted the thick head atop a pint of milk stout. One Panellist described this as "the maltster's equivalent to latte art". The nose was earthy, while the palate was sweeter: crème brûlée with beechwood-smoked liquorice and lemon-infused evaporated milk. A drop of water took us to the top deck of a Scottish ferry, our noses soaking up salty moss and custard, with the palate now a salty pine syrup and a warm cup of sweet tea.
