Product Description
The Creators Collection is a new series that brings liquid storytelling to life with rare aged whiskies curated to create the ultimate whisky flights.
Our first release is The Peat Plants Collection, a quartet of bottlings created to take you on a sensory journey through Scotland’s peatlands. Each whisky represents a different aspect of the natural world that contributes to the unique character of these spirits from Islay, through Aberdeenshire to the Orkney Islands.
Peated whisky is iconic of Scotland and our landscape – where peat has been a traditional source of fuel. It is also used to dry the malted barley, infusing it with that amazing, powerful ‘peat reek’ that carries right through to the mature whisky.
As long ago as 1930, celebrated whisky writer Aeneas MacDonald discussed the difference in peats from around Scotland and their influence on whisky. He was in no doubt that there was variety based on differences in fuel composition.
More recently, our friends at The Scotch Whisky Research Institute have subjected that to scientific scrutiny, conducting an experiment to analyse new-make created with peat from different parts of Scotland.
And just like peat, our perception of flavour is unique to our own geography and frame of reference. From the floral elegance of Cask No. 4.396: Heather ember to the powerful, medicinal punch of Cask No. 29.293: Moss and mist, this collection is a new way to explore flavour together.

FROM THE WHISKY TEAM
“We’re excited to unveil The Creators Collection, a new addition to our tradition of innovative whisky releases, building on the success of collections like the ‘26 Malts’ from 2005, ‘Far Flung Flavours’ in 2009, ‘Jazz Trio’ in 2018, and the ‘1.9.8.3. Anniversary Case’ in 2023. Each new release will explore unique flavour stories with both creative and technical inspiration. Themes will explore subjects such as our traditional home at The Vaults in Leith, the diversity of our peated whiskies, and whisky production techniques and cask maturation. We look forward to sharing these exceptional releases in the near future.” – Kai Ivalo, Whisky & Supply Chain Director
