Tasting Notes
Ice axes in hand, crampons on feet, and dried fruit tropical trail mix in the bag, we began our ascent. Clambering along marshmallow crags, we fixed anchors into pineapple walls, and traversed across ripe melon rock faces. We paused on a high ridge, cracked open the champagne, and looked out over vast lochs of light treacle. After a drop of water we ventured higher, working our way through a tricky sultana scree slope, as boulders of baked apples tumbled down. We finally reached the pinnacle of the pineapple, and rewarded ourselves with chunks of dark chocolate, ginger biscuits, and candied peel soaked in maple syrup.
