This All Hallows' Eve, step into an intimate evening where whisky and storytelling meet. Across five single cask drams and five live tales, 'Whisky Bard', Robin Laing will guide you through a tasting carefully curated to reveal the poetry in every dram.
With a lifetime of storytelling, music, and whisky experience, Robin brings extraordinary depth to the evening. As chair of the SMWS Tasting Panel, he has helped shape the Society’s approach to flavour. Drawing on the traditions of Samhain, he will lead guests through tales that tread the eerie, the uncanny, and the unexpected, each mirrored in a dram selected to echo its story.
Among the drams awaiting you are three spirits from the Highlands: 11.58, a lively ten-year-old with a whisper of sweetness; 68.114, fourteen years of quietly unfolding character; and 4.397, a nineteen-year-old shaped by northern winds and shadowed shores. From Speyside come two elder companions: 9.301, carrying twenty-one years of quiet power, and 35.410, a patient nineteen-year-old whose tale lingers long after the glass is drained.
A Society supper will complete the evening, rounding out what promises to be a rare and immersive experience.
