Tasting Notes
An intriguing medicinal note to start with, which was followed by a delicate wood smoke like roasting marshmallows over a campfire. On the palate we found blowtorched pineapple cubes and barbequed bananas wrapped in silver foil. Then, coconut ice cream with almonds, pecans and walnuts. Water added to the medicinal theme with Victory V lozenges, VapoRub and tiger balm on the nose followed by an oily and creamy mouthfeel. Perhaps a toffee coffee or a lemon syllabub, with a distinct flowery finish of lavender shortbread. Following nine years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a 1st fill custom toasted oak hogshead (70% American oak and 30% European).
