Sitting in the sun sipping peach Bellinis under cherry blossoms in a Tokyo park – or having frangipani on a tropical beach – or lemon meringue pie in a garden picnic – it’s transportive! The palate has luscious, enticements of caramel, toffee, dulce de leche, marrons glacé, butterscotch and chocolate Swiss roll; then roasted chestnuts, leather and oak stave toothpicks to finish. The reduced nose has the heft of hemp and hessian and the freshness of flower-freckled fields; toffee apples, carrot cake, walnuts and ice-cream cones. The palates charms include sugar-glazed yum-yums, ginger and lemon biscuits and waxed fruit sweets – savour the urbanity!
