Tasting Notes

Bottle limited to 2 per member

Rather typically for this make, it opens on WD40, grass, petrol, anthracite and green malt. Delightful madness! Then fermenting wash, cured game meats, raw rhubarb, damp sack cloth, an old smoking jacket, cod liver oil, pencil graphite, paraffin and a gravel-flecked minerality. Water offers lots of straw, hay loft, fermentation notes, freshly potted flowers, sawdust, sourdough pizza crust and sandalwood. The palate shows hot cross buns, aniseed, red liquorice, cherry cola cubes, Irn Bru bars, wild flowers, mead, engine oil and bandages soaked in Tizer. With water theres some oily rags, wax, old potting sheds, bubblegum, star anise, black pepper, pastrami and citronella. After 17 years in a bourbon hogshead this was transferred to a first-fill charred red wine barrique.
