Tasting Notes
Fresh tangerines and apricots were hot on the trail after a spicy start with ginger, cardamom and cloves. On the palate neat soft and velvety but at the same time the sweet dryness of an Oloroso Sherry. The flavours of oranges, plums and cranberries as well as candied lemon peel and roasted walnuts – all very well balanced. Diluted, aromas of stewed dark fruits sprinkled with brown sugar were followed by truffle butter and dried tea leaves. A wonderful oily, mouth-coating texture like an orange liqueur with honey roasted nuts in the finish. At fifteen years of age we combined two 2nd fill bourbon barrels, originally filled on the same day, into a 1st fill PX butt.
