Join The Scotch Malt Whisky Society and Saddle Grape & Grain for an exhilarating cycling adventure through the breathtaking southern end of the Kintyre Peninsula. This immersive experience combines the thrill of a 33-mile bike ride with the joy of tasting exceptional SMWS whiskies, showcasing the best of Campbeltown’s distilling heritage.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Scenic Cycle Ride: Explore the remote and stunning landscapes of the Kintyre Peninsula, with stops at the planned Machrihanish Distillery and finishing at Glen Scotia back in Campbeltown.
- Led by award-winning whisky writer Tom Bruce-Gardyne (a regular contributor to the Society’s ‘Unfiltered’ magazine), with contributions from R&B Distillers about barley-growing and distilling at Dhurrie farm, and from Iain McAlister at Glen Scotia.
- Dram at The Finish Line: Glen Scotia, 32-years-old – a year for each mile travelled!

WHAT’S ON THE MENU
Expect a delightful picnic halfway through the ride, featuring fresh produce and light bites to keep you energised. Our support vehicle will also be there, providing light refreshments, carrying bags, mending punctures and there for anyone needing a break. Celebrate the end of the tour with “The Final Gear Dram” - a taste of a rare 32-year-old Glen Scotia whisky.
WHAT TO BRING
A sense of adventure! Comfortable cycling gear and weather-appropriate clothing. Your own bike, or one from Kintyre Bikes (Tel: 07557 344515) – which will need pre-booking (the sooner the better)
