Tasting Notes
A lovely and harmonious nose opened with runny honey, wispy peat smoke, mentholated tobacco and hints of tree sap, dried rosemary and cinder toffee, plus touches of shoe polish, wintergreen and mineral oils. Reduction brought out polished exotic hardwoods, cherry bakewell tarts, hothouse flowers, honey cake and sweetened olive oil. Some hints of dried papaya and guava too. The neat palate possessed a satisfyingly full texture, with up-front notes of Turkish delight, dried herbs, crystallised honey, a gently drying waxiness and soft medicinal notes. Water brought sweet molten marshmallows, hints of aniseed, red liquorice, sweet fruit salad juices and children's cough medicines.
