We were stirring a mixed berry compote into plain yoghurt and topped it with some homemade granola, maybe adding some slices of banana and a spoonful of honey. Smooth on the palate with a spicy bitter chocolate kick like tasting some of the dregs of a traditionally prepared Turkish coffee. Water added juicy black seedless grapes, cinnamon-spiced cookies and orange pomander balls on the nose. To taste zingy and zesty reminding us of wild blackberry and lime jam with a lovely finish of vanilla orange candied cranberries. After ten years in an ex-bourbon hogshead, we transferred this whisky into a heavy char second-fill hogshead.
