Two to One is the combination of two casks of single malt from the same distillery that are married before bottling. Each Two to One bottling demonstrates the Whisky Team’s skills in experimentation, flavour creation and innovation, with the whisky in each bottle coming from a different maturation journey through a range of cask types to create something unique and delicious. These cask strength offerings are bottled in our traditional green bottles and follow the usual Society bottle code format.

Tasting Notes

The aroma was like a slice of warm, dark and sticky honey ginger tea loaf, spread with a silky smooth, slightly tart apple molasses. This was followed by a zingy mouth-coating texture with plenty of ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. After reduction we opened a bottle of dandelion and burdock cordial to which we added an icy mint tea, accompanied by buttery fudge and a moist orange loaf cake with chocolate chunks. The starting point for this small batch was two bourbon hogsheads of single malt Scotch whisky. One cask was transferred at 10 years old to a first fill American oak oloroso hogshead, while the other was left to mature in ex-bourbon wood. The casks were then married together before bottling.
