The Whisky Equinox is a new annual ritual inspired by the autumn equinox on 23 September when day and night stand in equal measure. It’s a moment to pause and embrace the change of season, a marker that signals the start of whisky season.

To celebrate this moment, we’ve created The Whisky Equinox Pair, two special half-bottles of whisky that embrace the light and the dark. Cask No. 39.334: Riesling spritz in the sun celebrates the brighter half of this moment, capturing the character and flavour of the day before the season turns. Cask No. 28.119: Spice it up after dark celebrates the longer evenings ahead, capturing the richer character and flavour of the night.

Enjoy them in good company, raise a dram and welcome the season of longer evenings, made for remarkable whisky.

GET INTO WHISKY SEASON

Celebrate the change of seasons at Queen Street on Thursday, 15 October with Light Side, Dark Side: An Autumn Equinox Whisky Journey. At this six-dram tasting you'll follow that same path in liquid form with bright, uplifting whiskies bursting with orchard fruits, honeyed sweetness and gentle floral notes. As the night draws in, cross the equinox into the dark side, where richer drams reveal layers of spice, oak, smoke and decadent depth. A Society supper is included.
